The DVHS Mobile Application Development Club welcomes you to our second hackathon, undergoing a theme of environmental sustainability. This hackathon challenges high school students to create a unique project, which will be presented to a panel of professional judges. Awards are handed out to the top three winning teams.
Environmental sustainability faces numerous challenges today, including climate change, deforestation, pollution, loss of biodiversity, etc… The increasing global demand for resources, coupled with unsustainable consumption and production patterns, exacerbates these issues. Urgent and collective efforts are required to address these challenges and transition towards a more sustainable and resilient future for the planet.Â
Your challenge is to come up with a solution to tackle some of these major issues and create a presentation to demonstrate your solution. Coding is not a requirement for your project, but if your solution employs coding, it will be considered during scoring (see rubric below), and it will add extra value to your solution. Explaining your code to the judges and showing that you understand the principles of coding will count heavily in your favor. Good luck, and we hope to see you soon on Hackathon day!
